Who We Are

Through awareness-raising, research, community empowerment, policy advocacy, and project implementation, we are tackling the problem of food waste at every level;  local, regional, and global.

Our Story
Founded on 16 October 2020, Zero Food Waste Initiative emerged from a pressing concern: in a world where millions go hungry, so much edible food is lost or wasted. Our founders saw not only the moral urgency, but the environmental urgency too. Food waste drives greenhouse gas emissions and wastes land, water, and energy. We decided that advocacy, education, community empowerment, and research were the ways we could make a difference.

Enough food for all, on a healthy planet.

To advocate, research, and implement solutions that reduce food waste, promote food upcycling & recycling, and advance food security while protecting the environment.

We collaborate with communities, schools, governments, and partners across Nigeria, and learn from global research to inform local solutions.

We can create a world with enough food for all.

Every day, millions go hungry while good food goes to waste. Your donation helps us rescue surplus food, empower communities, and promote sustainable food systems.
